The short version: before each bet, the server commits to a hashed server seed. You supply a client seed. After your session, you can unhash the server seed and run the same calculation yourself. If the output matches your results, the game did not tamper with the roll.
What provably fair does NOT do: it does not remove the house edge. The math still favors the casino over the long run, exactly as it does with any other verified random number generator. The Math on Dice
The payout multiplier formula is straightforward:
(100 minus the house edge) / win chance = multiplier
At a 1% house edge and a 50% win chance: (100 - 1) / 50 = 1.98x.
Shift to a 10% win chance and the multiplier climbs to 9.9x. Shift to 1% win chance and it reaches 99x. The house edge stays constant regardless of which win-chance setting you choose. You are not improving your odds by picking a different target. You are just trading hit frequency for payout size.
