Bitcoin Dice

Crypto dice games emerged in 2012 with the introduction of Satoshi Dice. The growth of crypto dice gambling grew along side the currency and you can find dozens if not hundreds of places to roll dice in hopes of winning your fortune.

The Basics

When it comes to gambling, it doesn’t get much simpler than crypto dice games: pick a number to roll over or under and roll the dice. If you picked correct, you win. There are two main types of dice games on the market, Dice and Hash-Dice. Regular dice is set to numbers 0-100 with 2 decimal places behind the whole number. Hash-dice is 0-10,000 with no decimals. The play the same and players generally just choose which number format they like better.

Betting

These days dice is as simple or complicated as you want it to be. Some sites offer the ability to implement complicated betting scripts, exact number betting, range betting, martingale, multiplier martingale and the list goes on. It is important to remember, dice is a gambling game with a house edge. While it is possible to win in a short term, you should not expect to make long term profits with any form of gambling.

Martingale: One of the most popular strategies of dice is the Martingale. Simply put, you increase your bet according to the chosen multiplier every bet until you win.

Example:

  • First roll - roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 1, Result loss.
  • Second roll - roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 2, Result loss
  • Third roll - roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 4, Result loss.
  • Fourth roll - roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 8, Result Win.
  • Fifth roll – roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 1.

Incredibly simple and effective way to play dice, but be warned that exponentially increasing your bet size can get risky very fast, so don’t forget to set a stoploss or you run the risk of losing it all.

Multiplier Martingale: This strategy is very similar to the regular martingale, but instead of increasing your bet size you increase the multiplier.

Example:

  • First roll - Roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 1, Result loss.
  • Second roll – roll over 67, payout multiplier 3x, bet 1, Result loss.
  • Third roll – roll over 76, payout multiplier 4.125x, bet 1, Result win.
  • Fourth roll – roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 1.

Still very simple, and having your bet stay the same size can feel safer. However, this strategy becomes harder to win after each bet and has a built-in cap on most dice games, as the multiplier can only go so high.

Reverse Martingale: Reverse martingale is what is known as the green streaker. It focuses on chaining wins for bigger profit instead of chasing losses. This strategy works well for dice as dice can go on long green and red streaks.

Example:

  • First roll - roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 1, Result win.
  • Second roll - roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 2, Result win
  • Third roll - roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 4, Result win.
  • Fourth roll - roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 8, Result loss.
  • Fifth roll – roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 1.

The idea is to maximize profits with this strategy, so you need to have a reset after x number of wins for the best outcome.

D'Alembert: This strategy is similar to the martingale in that you increase your bets on loss, but instead of doubling, the bet is increased by one “unit,” and instead of reset on win, the bet is decreased by 1 “unit.”

Example:

  • First roll – roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 1, Result loss.
  • Second roll - roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 2, Result loss
  • Third roll - roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 3, Result Win.
  • Fourth roll - roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 2, Result Win.
  • Fifth roll – roll over 50, payout multiplier 2x, bet 1.

The D’Alembert is a strategy for hedging losses by riding streaks up and down. It can be an effective strategy for long term dice running.

Wing it: Sometimes you just have to go for it. Follow your gut and hope for the best. Either going for a huge multiplier or maybe a few all ins on a small multiplier to boost the balance for more dice or maybe some other games at your favorite casino.

These are only a handful of the strategies for playing dice with your crypto. As stated above, it is important to remember that there is no perfect strategy. Dice is made for you to lose in the long run. How long of a run before you lose is all up to luck.
